Luoyang served as the capital for thirteen dynasties over a period of more than 1,500 years. The long history has a significant influence in its cultural heritage and has many historical sites. Although some of its grand historical heritage destroyed for the political upheavals in the last century, Luoyang still retains many significant ancient landmarks.
Longmen Grottoes
Located in the south of Luoyang city, the Longmen Grottoes is the only World Heritage attraction in Luoyang.It’s one of the three most famous treasure houses of stone inscriptions in China.The Longmen Grottoes were first built in 493 AD. After the Western Wei Dynasty, Eastern Wei Dynasty, Northern Qi Dynasty, Sui Dynasty, Tang Dynasty, and the Five Dynasties, more than 2,300 niches, 100,000 Buddha statues and 2,800 tablets of inscriptions remained. Lots of historical materials concerning art, music, religion, calligraphy, medicine, costume and architecture are kept in Longmen Grottoes.

White Horse Temple
White Horse Temple(Baima Temple), located about seven miles away from the city of Louyang,is China's first Buddhist temple which is covered with green ancient trees and appears solemn and tranquil. It was built in the 68 AD of the Eastern Han Dynasty , regarded as the "originating court" and the "cradle of Chinese Buddhism" by Buddhist disciples.The temple is one of the first batch of 4A level national tourist attractions and well preserved.

Guanlin Temple
Guanlin Temple is one of the three famous tombs of Guan Yu. the temple highly embodies the traditional style of Chinese architecture and is the national 4A level tourist spot.
Guanlin Temple is the place where Guan Yu's head was buried. Guan Yu's a hero in Chinese history who is the only person respected by Confucians, Buddhists and Taoists. The temple covers an area of 100 mu (about 16.5 acres).There is an art gallery built inside the temple, displaying a collection of nearly 2000 ancient steles, epitaphs and stone inscriptions. It’s really helpful to the research of ancient Chinese history.

Wangcheng Park
Located on the northern side of Zhongzhou Road, Wangcheng Park cover an area of about 40 hectares (99 acres).It called Wangcheng Park for being built on the site of the king's city in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty.
Built in 1955, Wangcheng Park is the largest comprehensive park Henan Province.During the Luoyang Peony Festival,it is one of the best places to enjoy the beauty of the peony.

Baiyunshan National Forest Park
The Baiyunshan National Forest Park was established in September, 1992.Located in the hinterland of the Funiu Mountain Ridge, southern Song County, Luoyang, the park occupies a total area of 168 sq kilometers (64.9 sq miles).Its natural beauty attracts many visitors.
With 7,054 feet high, Baiyunshan (White Cloud) Peak is o¬ne of the main peaks of the Funiu Mountain Ridge.Crowd clouds around the peak make it like a fairyland o¬n earth.with a abundant water supply,there are many waterfall and pools on the mountain such as the Jiulong waterfall, Qinglong Waterfall, and the Heilong Pool.
