Xiao Wei Geng Mosque
Xiao Wei Geng Mosque is one of most famous Muslim mosques in Yunnan Province. There are 440 families and 2,500 villagers living in the village. All of them are Muslims. The mosque consists of a prayer hall, minaret and a teaching room. T he prayer hall was constructed at the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty. The mosque was greatly damaged in 1873 when the Qing army attacked the village. The mosque was rebuilt in 1908, expanded in 1976 and rebuilt again in 1990. The mosque is a great example of Chinese and western architecture.
