Sanjiacun Mosque is situated in Sanjiacun Village (which was previously named Saijia Village), Yongjian Town, Weishan Yi and Hui Nationalities Autonomous County of Yunnan Province. Sanjiacun Village is a major Muslim village in the area of Weishan County.
Sanjiacun Mosque was originally built in the middle of Ming Dynasty. After reconstruction and expansion for several times, Sanjiacun Mosque has been built into a relatively large-scaled mosque in Weishan County. It covers an area of 3,520 square meters with a construction area of 528 square meters for the minaret.
Sanjiacun Mosque is mainly composed by buildings of gate, minaret, prayer hall, courtyard, classroom and dormitory. The prayer hall reconstructed in 1914 is a two-storey hall featured by the combination style of China and western countries. It is able to hold 1,200 people for prayers at the same time. In the east of the prayer hall, there stands the magnificent minaret with classic Chinese traditional style.
With strong Muslim cultural background, Sanjiacun Mosque has made great contribution to the training of Muslim talents by holding related school and classes.
