The Daowai Mosque was originally built in 1897, and is still in use today by Harbin’s Muslim population. Renovated in 1935 by the local Muslim community, the mosque is now the largest in Northeast China. More than 100,000 Muslims from across China and more than 300 from other countries visit the mosque to worship. During Ramadan, 20,000 Muslims attend services at the mosque.
