2. Ruins of St. Paul’s

The Ruins of St. Paul’s is arguably the most representative landmark of Macau and is one of the landmarks to be enlisted on UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. St. Paul’s was originally a cathedral constructed in the 16th century and due to a series of unfortunate events the cathedral had been burnt down several times and reconstructed but after the third fire in 1835 it was never rebuilt. There is also a museum built at the bottom of the cathedral known as The Museum of Sacred Art and Crypt that is filled with religious artifacts. Entry to the museum is free between 9.00am-6.00pm.


3. Macau Museum of Art

Macau’s Museum of Art integrates traditional Oriental arts and themes with the prim Western arts aesthetics. There are a collection of paintings, calligraphy, jewelry, ceramics and photos that are all related to Macau’s cultural background and history. The museum is separated into 5 exhibition rooms and two exhibition areas that are spread across the 5 storey museum.

5. St Lawrence Church

St. Lawrence Church is one of the three oldest churches in Macau. The church was originally constructed of wood in 1569, by 1618 the church was reconstructed using clay and in 1846 the church was completed in stone. The church is located on the southern coast and was once the place for family of Portuguese sailors to pray for their safe return. The church has beautiful stained glass windows and a wonderfully decorated and architected interior.
