Shaoshan is a small city, and has a population of only about 10 million, but Shaoshan has a great reputation, because it is the birthplace of a great man. Thousands of visitors come to visit Shaoshan every year.
There is a “U” shape farmhouse in Shaoshan, it is the birthplace of Mao Zedong, with a total of 18 residence houses, Mao Zedong was born here in December 26, 1893 and spent his childhood and youth, until the fall of 1910 he left to study. There is a pond full of lotus in front of the house, called Nanan Pond, about 100 meters away there is a private school where Mao Zedong spent his youth there, that is the South Bank, with a total of 10 houses.

Di Shui Cave is located 4 km west of Mao Zedong's former residence, it is a narrow valley and surrounded by mountains. As there is spring water dripping from the rocks, so called “Di Shui Cave”.

Di Shui Cave
Liu Shaoqi's former residence is located in Tanzichong, Huaminglou, Ningxiang County, Hunan Province. November 24, 1898, Liu Shaoqi was born and then spent his childhood and youth here. This house is a civil structure in a courtyard, with mud-brick walls, half of the roof is the small tiles, half is grass. There is a clear pond in front of the house.
Liu Shaoqi Memorial Hall is a national key cultural relics protection unit – a revolutionary museum based on the former residence of Liu Shaoqi, covering an area of 34,000 square meters, including the former residence, memorial, memorial statue and other facilities.
