Situated to the northwest of Mingyue Peak that is also known as Bright Moon Peak, the famous Xianhe Peak rises 253.6 meters above sea-level, with the relative altitude of 101 meters, it's said to be the highest among the Decai Mountains. Its mountain area accounts for 2.1 hectares. There's the Xianhe Cave that is also called as Crane Cave in the bosom of a mountain.

Once on the Diecai hill, one will certainly want to see Xianhe Peak which is actually the most beautiful scenery and has the highest elevation on the Diecai Mountains at about 14 meters, 8.6 meters wide at the base, with the total length of 60 meters and occupying an area of 516 square meters. The inside of the Cave is framed like a triangular shape in its setting of the Diecai hills.

In spring and autumn, the landscape also has a unique charm, which is created by the way the light is reflected off the steep, rain-wet mountainsides, the clear crystal water of the lakes and fjords, the surrounding pine-covered mountains and many more.

It is a popular belief among the common people that since the ancient time there were two cranes inhabiting and perching on the peak. Those curious and brave enough prefer to engrave the cranes on the cave mouth at the hillside, so others could pay their respects to them. As a result, the cave took its name "Zhanhe Cave" which is also referred to as the Crane Admiring Cave.

By the Ming Dynasty, one sage converted to Taoism and faces the wall and meditate in the cave, and had as his poetic and religious name "Zhanhe Daoren”also known as Crane Admiring Taoist. Since then he turned to other jobs and the cave changed its name to the Crane Cave. After that, both the Peak and the Cave are in the name of the red-crowned crane, which has been going on time out of mind.

The cave is arranged on two levels. The upstairs where once stood the famous Qingzhen Pavilion was used to offer sacrifices for Emperor Zhenwu, which had become a busy and crowded place of worship for Buddhists. Moreover, these kinds of offerings were also recorded in an ancient poem. The under layer is much more spacious. Anyone was able to cross through from either eastern or western entrance.

With an even and smooth surface of the rock wall near the entrance to the cave, the cave just looks like an elongated hemispherical vault hall. The two eastern and western mouths of the cave have formed the windows of the borrowed scenery. Still and all, there could display many and varied scenery according to the position.

One was lucky to view the cloud-shrouded hills of Mingyue Peak and Yuyue Peak rising one after another from the eastern mouth, while the urban landscape of mansions that present an unbroken array of establishments of this order from the western mouth. It's the crystallization of the two quite different landscapes in one cave.
