
The sky was always filled with gray clouds during the trip to Shanxi, occasionally windy and dry. Wang Family Courtyard was the second scenic spot we visited, which is known as “China’s Civil Palace”.
Wang Family Courtyard is located at Jingsheng Town, east of Lingshi County, with total area of 250,000 square meters, including three building complexes: Red Fort (Hongmen bao), Gaojia ya, Wang family’s ancestral hall, which are all Qing dynasty castle architectures in the loess high pitched, with a total of 123 courtyards, 1118 rooms.
There are brick, wood, and stone carving architectural decorations in the Wang Family Courtyard, with a high historical and cultural value.
