The newest cafe which has become the latest internet celebrity place to chill out with friends in Beijing is the Corner Tower Cafe located outside of Shenwumen of Forbidden City. You don’t even need to purchase a ticket into Forbidden City to enjoy the latest imperial coffee.
The interior design of the cafe is inspired by the imperial court and although no extravagant decorations were used the cafe still has a unique sense of beauty.
There are a total of 31 beverages to choose from and the cafe even has a list of “Royal Selections” with interesting names which include: Yangxin Coffee, Kangxi Loves Chocolate, 3,000 Beauties Tea, The Concubine Smiles all names are linked with the imperial court.
Apart from coffee there is also a selection of sweet treats such as cakes but more importantly you can also purchase Palace Museum souvenirs where you can choose from notebooks, calendars and small gifts.

Gray brick floors, roof beams, and charming shaman fans on both sides reveal the ancient design yet modern style. To top it off the wallpaper is a replica of Wang Ximeng’s “A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains”.
