The Hainan Provincial Museum – Never Miss to Visit!!

Located in the beautiful city of Haikou, the Hainan Provincial Museum is a permanent exhibition location displaying the magnificent relics of yester years ranging from arts to various forms of culture. The work of the exhibition project was started in 1984 and the museum was officially opened public on November 15, 2008. This is one of the great museums, which has a time tunnel where tourist can pass through the various cultural evolutions. The museum is sprawled over an area of 40,000 square meters. There are 20,000 and more cultural relics displayed in the museum and the first phase of exhibition hall is arranged in 18,000 square meters. Out of this, you can see Technical rooms, service facilities, administration offices, cultural relic’s storage and an exhibition area of 8,000 square meters.



The second phase:
The second phase of the exhibition hall will be having an area of 7,000 square meters and is planned to restore the ship of wreck of "Huaguangjioa one". Also there will be a mammoth exhibition of about 10,000 porcelain relics, which can shred light to the yester year’s rich Chinese history. The exhibition will direct the visitors to have rich on hand information about ancient Chinese culture, their living style, the maritime history of South China Sea, the Silk Road expeditions and lot more information of the geo-political situations.



The layout:
The layout of the exhibition is divided in to permanent nature exhibition and thematic exhibitions. In permanent sector, it is further divided in to four basic elements such as exhibition of the relics, history of Hainan, relics related to minority nationalities in Hainan and the rich cultural heritage of Hainan. Similarly in the thematic exhibition, it encompasses about 20 themes and the main themes are the last two decades development, Charm of Masters in Literature of the 20th Century, Asian Museum of Watercolor Art, National Treasure Exhibition and the latest technological development by Chinese Academy of Sciences and Tisinghua University.

Multimedia explanation centers:
The exhibition halls are supported with multimedia explanation centers where tourist can have the chance to understand the details of particular exhibitions going on that part of the hall. These facilities give a rare experience to understand about Hiainan culture from a close angle. Visiting the museum will certainly a wonderful experience as at allow the visit to interact with the rich evidences and gallant effort by the old generation, their technical skills and artisan qualities.



Location:
The museum is located at No.68 Xingguo Road, Haikou City, next to the east side of Hainan Provincial Cultural Park. Haikou is well connected with Road, Rail and Air net work travel system. After reaching Haikou it is only a walking distance or you can engage a taxi to reach here. The museum will be opened from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on every day excluding Monday. Only 3,000 entry ticket will be issued per day. ID proof is required to get the entry ticket. Audio guide service is available in English, Chinese, Japanese and Russian languages.
