Hong Kong One-Day Tour

Last year, a friend of mine came to Shenzhen to visit me. She hadn’t been to Hong Kong so we decided to travel to Hong Kong for a one-day tour.

Before we go, we brought the Hong Kong one-day ticket for public transportation on the internet for 63 Yuan per person. With the ticket you can travel unlimitedly by almost all public transportations in Hong Kong for 24 hours. We also brought the combo entrance ticket to the Madame Tussauds, the Peak Tower, and round-trip tram for 132 Yuan per person. The ticket can be used right away on the site, no need to wait in queue. It was quite a time-saver.

We arrived at the Luohu Port at 8:30 in the morning. It was still early so there were not many people at the entry point. It took us just a few minutes to pass the custom control.

On the way to the Central Ferry Piers, we passed the IFC Apple retail store.

Our first stop in Hong Kong was Madame Tussauds which was inside the Peak tower near the summit of Victoria Peak. We took the metro to the Central and then followed the instruction to the Central Ferry Piers. From there we took shuttle bus C15 to the tram stop.

Took on the tram to the Peak of Victoria gap. The tram was fun to ride as the ascending angle can reach about 60 degree.
Madame Tussauds’ Wax Museum

After visiting the wax museum, we went to the sky terrace at the peak tower. You can have the panoramic view of Hong Kong there. It was already quite beautiful in day time. I wondered how it looks like at night.

It was already 1 o’clock after we finished with the sky terrace. We had our lunch in the restaurant in the peak tower.

In the afternoon, we headed back down by tram and went to Tsim Sha Tsui for shopping.

For dinner, we went to Lan Fong Yuen. It is a famous Hong Kong style café with more than 60 years’ history.

View from Victoria Harbor
Around 7 o’clock, we went to the Victoria Harbor Waterfront. The Avenue of Stars is there. Many famous Hong Kong and Asian actors, singers left their handprint at the avenue. At eight, we watched “A Symphony of Lights” at the harbor. It was a show conducted by the change of light across 40 buildings on both sides of the harbor.

After the show, we headed back to Luohu Port by metro and finished the Hong Kong one-day tour.
