The pool was temporarily opened to the public in January 2014 and was fully declared opened during March 2014. An estimated 5.5 million tourists have visited the aquarium during 2014.
The technology and engineering skills made the aquarium to achieve the nearly impossible targets and it is renowned for having five Guinness World Records in its name. This is supposed to be the largest aquarium in the world. Apart from this, it holds the largest titles for, largest aquarium tank; largest dome sized viewing theater, the largest acrylic panel, and the largest aquarium window. The water volume of the aquarium is calculated as 12.87 million gallons that is also one of the world records are maintained in the Guinness Book of World Records. The Acrylic Customs panels used in the exhibition pools that allow the visitors to have a clear view of the marine species.
The aquarium is divided into eight theme parks, and each of the parks has its own identity. The identity is maintained by allowing the fish to swim around in their natural habitat. These are created artificially without disturbing their lifestyle.
The Ocean Main Street
The beautiful entrance is designed with LED digital canopy and is surrounded by a lot of shops! Lively and pulsing entrance is all set to give you a positive ambiance that a tourist can enjoy inside the aquarium.
Dolphin Cove
The Dolphin Cove is further divided into Spotted Dolphin Shack, Dolphin Mansion, Island Safari, Invasion of Pirate Island and Happy Dolphin. At the Dolphin Mansion, you will have the viewing facilities that can give you a close look of the Dolphin.
Amazing Amazon
This section is further divided between Journey to Amazon where you will have a fresh water aquarium, and Parrot coast, where the tourist will be offered with B&M, winged coaster ride!
Ocean Wonders
Moving to this section, you will have the famous Whale Shark Exhibit Aquarium. Here you can have a close encounters with corals, octopuses, whale sharks and manta rays! For a better view of the marine species, the dome is designed with the largest aquarium window that is featured in the Guinness Book of World Records! This transparent acrylic panel is made single window! Another section in here is the Deep Sea Odyssey, where the tourists will be offered with a submarine ride!
Colorful World
In this section, you will have Games Corridor, Otter’s Home, Bumper car section, Water world, Wave Land. In the Wave Land, you can see small fish and other marine species.
Mount Walrus
These sections are filled exciting themes and are classified into Walrus Castle, Secrets of Pinnipedia, Legend of Seals, High-Speed Warship, and Walrus Splash.
Hengqin Sea

Timing:
The normal timing Monday to Thursday is 9:30 am to 19:30 pm and Friday to Sunday 9:30 am to 21:00 pm. There will be night admission on Friday to Sunday from 17:00 pm to 21:30 pm.
